Yamato Scientific America Inc.

Yamato Scientific introduced its product line to US market in 1982 under the corporate name of a leading US scientific product distributor. Yamato was a pioneer to introduce a microprocessor temperature control with self-diagnostic features, on thermal processing equipment line.

Yamato Scientific America Inc. (YSA) was founded in 1989 to offer general laboratory products to the US market including ovens, muffle furnaces, sterilizers, incubators, rotary evaporators, analyzers, data loggers, baths, water circulators, cold traps, spray dryers, freeze dryers, water purifiers, stirrers, shakers, laboratory washers, plasma cleaners, laboratory furniture, chambers, freezers & refrigerators, and custom made industrial products.

On February 2006, YSA relocated to the heart of Silicon Valley, Santa Clara, California to a 17,000 sq-ft. facility to expand our inventory capacity and distribution outreach, shipping directly from our warehouse. Our Silicon Valley location provides sales, marketing and technical support to a diverse pool of industries – life science, chemical, technology, automotive, energy, pharmaceutical, governmental, academic institutions and more.

Yamato Scientific Co., Ltd. was established in 1889 by Mr. Sosuke Morikawa Sr. as a trading company. Milestones include the invention of the first X-ray tube in Japan in 1915, broadening the business to the scientific community by manufacturing various glassware products, followed by development, manufacture, and distribution of R&D related scientific products which represents the foundation of our current business.

Our founder’s original ideology still continues after 130 years. “Yamato believes that science has the power to improve people’s lives and the environment in which we live in. Further, our company has a mission to provide innovative and cutting-edge technology that contributes to the development of scientific breakthroughs.”

Yamato Scientific has become one of the largest scientific product manufacturers and distributors in Japan. The company has three business categories – Scientific & Industrial Products; Analytical, Process, & Testing Products; and Laboratory Furniture. All of our products are designed and manufactured at multi location manufacturing facilities – Minami Alps, Japan and Chongqing, China under stringent quality control management and environment sustainability initiative. Our factories are certified ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO13485 to serve our global sales network.
